Lucia Gardin is born in Bratislava in May 1968. She studied violin at the Music Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome and at the same time achieved her A-level. She then studied Art History at the University La Sapienza in Rome.
Since 1989 she is fully dedicated to photography. She entered the "European Institute of Design" and starting her practise with various photographic agencies such as "Photomovie", in a collaboration lasted several years, and specializing in portraits and still photography.
Her pictures have been distributed by the agency Grazia Neri, until its closure, and published by major Italian and foreign magazines, like Venerdi' di Repubblica, Io Donna from Corriere della Sera, Time, Vanity Fair and Playboy.
Her pictures have been collected in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th catalogue of the Venice Movie Award edited by AQ Communication with the support of the "Biennale del Cinema" of Venice.
In 2006 she worked at the reportage book project, with the collaboration of Gianni Capaldi, that has been published under the title "Le mani del lavoro" for "Fiom-CGIL"", by Meta Editions.
More projects in 2006, when she opens her portrait exhibition "Preludio" at the Slovak Embassy in Rome. After Preludio is exposed at the "Art Film Festival" of Trecianske Teplice in Slovakia, some photos had been selected for the show "Rock, Pop, Jazz".
In 2007 she classified 3rd at the first edition of "A special Star" organized by the magazine "A" for the IV Venice Movie Star Jaeger-le Coultre Award, and in 2008 she classified 3rd and 5th at the IX edition of the national photographic competition "Cinefestival In&Out".
In 2009 she classifies 1st and 2nd for the best portrait again at the 6th Venice Movie Stars-Jaeger-le Coultre Award and is 2nd classified at the X edition of the national photographic competition "Cinefestival In&Out".
Lucia lives in Rome and travels in Europe to develop her projects and collaborations.
